A Letter from the Paster

I, Rev. Sylvester C Hooks, the proud pastor of The Great Commission Interdenominational Church, would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the entire congregation for their devotion and dedication and cooperation that they have shown me over the last 19 years.

Your commitment has caused this church to be one of the most successful, self-supporting, and spirit-filled churches in this whole city. This achievement could not have been accomplished without a staff of godly preachers who have always had my back, a dedicated Board of Deacons, and a Trustee Board that handles the church's business in a way that I never have to worry. We are blessed with an Advisory Board and Administrative Staff that was put together by God that plans our entire calendar year of events.

Since we are a growing church, I thank God for our youth and the Youth leaders, because our youth are the future of this church.

If we continue to do what God's word says in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it"...

If our Board members and staff members continue to do what God commanded us to do in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths..."

And if we listen to the words in St. Matthew 12:25, " And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:..."

Our church will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So, let us as a church body pray together that God may keep us together.

Your Pastor and Friend,

Rev. Sylvester C. Hooks
