History
The Great Commission Interdenominational Church was founded October 15, 1988 with eight members under the leadership of Reverend Sylvester C. Hooks. We had Sunday School for two Sundays and then the Lord blessed us to have Worship Service and Sunday School at 887 Miller Avenue at the home of Rev. Sylvester and Mrs. Mary Hooks. We soon out grew the family room and later rented space from the Masonic Hall Lodge.
